Abdolnaser Hemmati, Central Bank of Iran's Governor, who has traveled to Iraq with President Hassan Rohani had a comprehensive negotiations with his Iraqi counterpart regarding the way of pursuing and implementing the agreement which was made between two countries last month.
The first tranche of Iranian government's dues were deposited in the Central Bank of Iran's account yesterday. Out of 12 billion dollars of Iranian export to Iraq, gas and electricity export account for 4 billion dollars.
It is worth mentioning that in the meeting issues such as facilitating banking affairs and Iranian services for merchants, activity of Iranian banks' branches in Iraq, establishing brokerage relations between Iranian banks and Iraqi banks, the necessity of accepting dinar guarantees instead of dollar guarantees for Iranian contractors were discussed.
