Iran, Japan to Kick off Banking Operations

Central bank of Iran's Governor in his visit to Japanese ambassador pointed to Japan's oil imports from Iran, expressing his hope for expanding two countries' economic relations.

Mitso Gousatio, Japanese ambassador to Iran, said despite the U.S. sanctions against Iran, Japanese active companies kept their presence in Iran in recent months.

The official went on to say that based on Japan's interests we will continue our economic relations with Iran.



Japanese ambassador in his part said the beginning of banking activities between two countries is the new round of trade and economic activities between two nations, adding Japan has bought on average 200000 oil barrels per day from Iran since two months ago.



At the meeting the cooperation of Japanese commercial banks with Iran through settlement of oil exports' money, goods imports and other philanthropic items were reviewed.



It is worth mentioning that Iranian banking delegation will travel to Japan as soon as possible to facilitate and finalize executive arrangements.
