Travel Foreign Exchange Sale Kicks off in Banks

Selling travel foreign exchange has started to applicants in banks at 14500 toman for one euro by submitting their documents.

IBENA- Selling travel foreign exchange has begun in selected branches of Bank Melli and the number of branches will increase gradually. The foreign currency is in euro and dollar is not given to applicants.



According to the Central Bank of Iran's circular, supplying and giving travel foreign exchange in bank note is legal based on the market rate via Bank Melli, Mellat Bank, Saman Bank, Tejarat BAnk and Parsian Bank. At present, Bank Melli is the first bank has started supplying travel foreign exchange.



Therefore banks are allowed to supply travel foreign exchange based on the market rate from their purchased foreign currencies source. Bank Melli states that the selling ceiling of euro to each traveller is 500 euros.
