Solving Iran-Iraq's Banking Problems on Agenda

Iranian first Vice President said we should make an attempt to increase Iran-Iraq's trade level to over $7 bn, stating solving some banking and administrative barriers in this area is effective.

Eshaq Jahangiri in his meeting with Fuad Masum, Iraqi Presiden, on Thursday pointed to the increase of bilateral ties between two countries in economic field, particularly in oil, gas, electricity, exchange of culture and pilgrims, saying we should struggle that the economic exchanges level surpasses 7 billion dollars.



He highlighted that solving some administrative and banking hurdles in this regard is effective, expressing fortunately the political determination is in the highest level to pave the path for more serious cooperation of private sectors. 



Iraqi President at the meeting referred to many grounds for economic collaboration between two countries, citing Iraq welcomes to the Islamic republic of Iran's economic projects and investment, calling for more highlighted role of Iranian private sector in this area.



The official stressed that cooperation with Iraq's adjacent and friend countries is our priority, emphasizing Iran-Iraq' relations are based on mutual interest, ensuring Iraq never participate in any measures against its neighbours.



Regarding negotiations in economy, banking and climate areas which have been done, Fuad Masum said we wish to employ Iran's experiences to solve the problems.
