Opening New Iranian Branch in Switzerland under Banking Negotiations

Governor of Central bank of Iran in his visit with Swiss ambassador to Iran expressed his gratitude about two countries' banking relations, calling for Central Bank and Swiss Supervisory Authority to expedite the process to issue the license for Iranian banks to open a branch in Switzerland.

In his visit with Laitner, Swiss ambassador to Iran, Valiollah Seif said Iranian banks' activities  are within international regulations and also we have taken remarkable steps toward adjusting them with world standards.



He stated that Iran's structural reform of banks in two areas that is 'standardizing bank operations and adjusting them with international regulations' and 'reforms of accounting and supervisory standards' are in progress.



Regarding Iranian banks' reform of accounting and supervisory standards, the official emphasized that Iranian banks are under assessment of asset quality and according to the results of surveys an especial structural reform plan will be applied for each bank.



Swiss ambassador, in his side, expressed his country's willingness to expand banking communications between two countries, reporting Switzerland has made an attempt to encourage its banks to cooperate with Iranian banks, going on to say that in order to expand banking cooperation, more transparent from Iran's banking system is needed and this meeting can be an introduction of this issue.



Switzerlan's ambassador to Iran expressed his gratitude for the steps have been taken for the development of two countries' banking relations, mentioning we will negotiate with Swiss banking officials about issuing license for Iranian banks to establish a branch in Switzerland.
