Iran International Banking System Flourishing/Foreign Banks in Queue

CEO of Tose'e Ta'avon Bank said the bank has expanded its international banking relations with 20 foreign banks in post-sanction era.

Regarding Tose'e Ta'avon Bank's launching brokerage relations in particular in post-sanction era, Hojatollah Mahdian stated that fortunately in this regard we have had appropriate bank accounts opening, but the circumstances are not ideal yet.



He said the bank's international activities have changed totally compared with the past so that during the sanctions era we had jut brokerage relations with a few banks, but now it has increased to 20 foreign banks.



Mahdian added, we are still continuing our negotiations and expansion in this area and the conditions are not comparable with the sanctions era.



It is worth noting that Akbar Komijani, Deputy of Central Bank of Iran, has mentioned recently during the sanctions, Iran's banking system had just brokerage relations with 33 foreign banks, while the figure has risen to 270 commercial banks in the world now.



"As to finance, Central Bank with the cooperation of banking system and Ministry of Economy and Finance Affairs could ink more than $26 bn finance contract with some countries such as China, South Korea, India, Russia, Austria, Denmark and also at the present another $35 bn finance contract is under negotiations and is about to be finalized", Komijani said.
