Russia Enthusiastic to Have Interaction with Iran's Cooperative Sector

Head of the Commerce Department of Russia Embassy in Tehran says "Russia is willing to expand trade exchanges with Iran's cooperative sector."

At a joint meeting held between Iran's Cooperative Chamber and Russian Commercial attache, the capabilities of cooperative sector in agricultural area were reviewed.





During the meeting, Andrey Lugansky, Head of the Commerce Department of Russia Embassy in Tehran, elaborated on similarities and differences between Iran and Russia's economic structures, adding there are mineral and oil resources in both countries and also Iran and Russia have good industrial resources.





The official voiced his country's preparation for developing trade relations, mentioning based on existing circumstances and sanctions, there is an appropriate opportunity to expand trade exchanges in agricultural field.





He went on to say that currently, fruit and vegetables are being exported to Russia through Turkey and Egypt.





Lugansky pointed to the role of Iran's Cooperative Chamber for expanding interactions, stating according to the store system in Russia, Iran's Cooperative Chamber can play a significant role to grow and develop trade exchanges.





"In line with expanding trade interactions, real and legal persons should be present and could ink international deals with high volume. According to Russia's 140 million  population, only 12 chain stores meet the people's needs", Andrey Lugansky said.
