Iran, Russia's New Economic Talks Start

Iran's Minister of Economy reports Iran-Russia's trade volume increased by 70 percent in recent year, adding the removal of banking barriers and establishing banking activities grounds are the result of Iran and Russia's expanded relations.

Speaking at reporters, Masoud Karbasian, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, after his visit with Alexander Novak, Russian Minister of Energy, said I negotiated with Russian side ahead of Russia and Azerbaijan's Presidents' travel to Iran and holding a trilateral meeting with them in Tehran and also convening Iran-Russia's joint economic commission in near future.





He voiced the development of  Iran and Russia's relations has gone well in a way that their trade volume increased  by 70 percent in recent year.





The official went on to say that cooperation fields based on great diversification have been provided between two countries. He pointed investment agreements, establishing second and third phase of Boushehr nuclear power plant and 1400 megawatt hydro power plant of Bandarabas, expanding joint maritime and rail transportation, agricultural projects, pharmaceutical, gas and oil cooperation are some of them.





Karbasian touched upon the finalizing Iran and the EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION's talks, solving banking problems, providing banking activities, establishing customs cooperation and in particular making a green channel for Iranian businesspersons.



He considered them as achievements of Iran and Russia' expanding relations could pave the proper path for deepening two countries' economic cooperation.





Alexander Novak, in his part, expressed the hope that Karbasian as an appointed head of Iranian part in Iran-Russia's joint economic commission be a dynamic factor and bring more discipline and speed in developing two-side collaboration.





"In today's talks, we discussed in details in the line with special order of Iran and Russia's Presidents for all-round development in bilateral economic cooperation, agreed areas especially two countries future projects and necessary decisions for increasing Iran-Russia's ceiling economic reltions were made", Russian Minister of Energy said.
