Iran,Malaysia Embark on Economic Talks

At a meeting with Malaysia's Finance Minister, policies for development of Iran and Malaysia's financial and economic relations were reviewed.

Masoud Karbasian, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, during his meeting with Johari Abdul Ghani,Malaysia's Finance Minister, in the sidelines of the World Bank Annual Meeting pointed to Malaysia's position, the importance of Malaysia as an Islamic country, saying "the level of two countries' economic relations is not as much as political relations".



He stressed Iran and Malaysia should expand their economic relations.



Johari Abdul Ghani during his speech voiced Malaysian companies are willing to have cooperation with Iran, expressing his satisfaction toward providing finance for one of Iran's subway metropolises by Malasyian institutions, stressing the continuation of that leads to more collaboration.



The official announced his preparation for traveling to Iran with a high-profile trade delegation, including private sectors managers in the early 2018.



It is worth noting that at the meeting, expanding ways for economic and financial relations were discussed by two sides and banking cooperation and providing credit lines were considered as their instruments.
