Iran, Armenia to Boost Banking Ties

Iranian Minister of Economy at a meeting with Head of Armenian State Revenue Committee emphasized the economic development of two nations.

Pointing to the vast duty scope of Ministry of Economy, Masoud Karbasian, Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, at a meeting with Head of Armenian State Revenue Committee said "most of international economic interactions of Iran are done through this ministry and according to the high level of Iran and Armenia's political relations, two countries' economic relations must develop".





He voiced Armenia is Iran's intimate friend in the region, adding " two countries' amity relations should be cemented more by economic relations and in order to attain this aim, it is required that two countries' Economic Relations Commission be more active".





Karbasian made the remarks that within the tariff preferences, Iran and Armenia should give discounts to each other for imported commodities.

During the meeting, Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance stressed the avoidance of levying extra tax, development of banking cooperations, collaboration in free trade zones and investment in joint manufacturing between Iran and Armenia.





Vardan Harutyunyan, Head of Armenian State Revenue Committee, expressed satisfaction for holding the meeting, highlighting the development of Iran and Armenia's economic relations.

Armenian official pointed to the historical record of Iran and Armenia, saying his country is prepared to boost economic relations in IT and customs sectors.
