Europeans to Invest in Iran's Industries

Mohammad Shariat Madari says many Iranian manufacturing units have applicants for joint venture from Europe, China, Russia and so on.

Mohammad Shariat Madari, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, on a meeting to monitor the problems of the large industrial units of Markazi province said 10 thousand billion rials in facility form will be devoted to industries in the current year and also some part of this facility will be spent to renovate industries and mines of Iran.

He stressed that one part of this facility is going to be dedicated for technical and engineering services as well as subsidy help to receive loan for renovation of the country's industries. Moreover, another part of this facility will be granted in a loan form to implement projects.

Shariat Madari underlined the renovation of industry and mine is one the most significant programs of the ministry, adding there are 85 thousand active industrial units across the country and also many manufacturing units in both private and non-private sectors have investors from Europe, China, Russian and so on for joint venture.

Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade noted that industry growth rate was negative in last years, but it has been positive now and Iran is on the track of progress and boost.

The senior official highlighted the tariff rate should be adjusted in a competitive manner against domestic production, emphasizing the maximum use rule of internal power must be implemented in the ministry more seriously.

"We have a good relationship with the banking system and this cooperation will be more and more in the future", he said.

Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade made the remarks that we are prepared to concede the problematic units to eligible investors under the structural reforms, creating job, enhancing skills, abilities and productivity conditions. Furthermore, production should be competitive, economic and available in international markets and if it isn't in this way, we should do structural reforms.
