Iran's Inflation Ticks up in Base Year

Iran’s Central Bank declared the inflation rate ending up Mordad month in 1396 rose to 10 percent.

 According to Iran’s base year in 1395, Central Bank revealed the first report of inflation rate, adding the inflation during 12-month ending up Mordad,1396, stood at 10 percent.



The index edged up in Mordad 1396, comparing with a year earlier.



The total of price and consumer goods index in urban areas touched 1.77 %, comparing with previous month shrank 0.2 percent.



The whole index of inflation in 12 main groups, indicating food and drink groups in Mordad decreased 1.1 percent, comparing with prior month, but Tabaco inflation remained unchanged.



 Moreover, the cost of 'clothes and shoes', 'Housing, water, electricity and other fuels', 'luggage and appliances and services for households' ticked up 0.5%, 0.8 percent and 1.2 percent respectively.



Central Bank of Iran’s report shows the inflation in recreation and cultural affairs 0.9%, education 0.2 percent, restaurants and hotels 1.1 percent and also goods and miscellaneous services 0.9 % had downward trend.



It is worth noting the total index of commodity groups dropped by 0.5 percent, while services part rose 0.9 percent.
