Iran, Bosnia Discuss New Economic Ties

A delegation comprised of the Chairman of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Ambassador to Tehran and the country’s economic attaché have met with officials from Iran’s cooperatives sector.

During the meeting, the Head of Iran’s Chamber of Cooperatives expressed his country’s willingness to expand economic relations with Bosnia. Bahman Abdollahi said there is currently a capacity for increasing the volume of ties in the cooperatives sector to twice as much.



Abdollahi also tabled a three-point package of proposals, including eased visa provisions for Bosnian tradesmen and companies as well as facilitation of financial transactions and holding specialized trade fairs, where the capacities of the cooperatives sector are introduced and enhanced.



For his part, the Chairman of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed gratitude for Iran’s support to his nation during the tough days of the Bosnia War. Safet Softić also called for the expansion of bilateral economic ties through facilitating the movement of businessmen between the two countries.
