Farhad Dejpsand in response to why devaluation of the national currency has occurred? He said that t Central Bank has made great efforts to close all the holes and leaks of resources and prevent the increase of the monetary base. At the same time, there were management requirements and some restrictions.
Emphasizing that fund's resources have not been used to provision of budget and pay salaries, "This year, we withdrew only 4% of fund's resources. About one billion euros have been withdrawn from the fund to fight the corona"; Dejpsand added.
"We tried to play a pivotal role in financing the economy"; he said. "In the whole of last year, we financed 264,000 billion toman from capital market, but this figure has only been 320,000 billion toman in the first six months of this year."
The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, pointing out that capital market has more capacity than this amount, continued: If events of the last two months had not happened in this market, we would have financed more than this.
"Many have predicted super-inflation, but it did not happen," Dejpsand said. We are not satisfied to this growth of liquidity and all the efforts of government and Central Bank are to control liquidity.
